Performance Profile

Accurate entries into an Aircraft’s Performance Profile are beneficial when building trip itineraries and contribute to the safe operation of a flight. When generating a trip, Schedaero calculates flight time based on an aircraft’s performance, allowing you to quote clients on an accurate flight time and provide them with an estimated time of arrival.Schedaero also utilizes aircraft performance information as a tool to advise on possible safety limitations like runway lengths.

Aircraft Performance Profiles are created for aircraft types, so you can associate multiple tails of the same aircraft type with an Aircraft Performance Profile.

CREATING A PERFORMANCE PROFILE

1. Go to Aircraft→Performance Profiles

2. Click on the Create New box

3. Enter Aircraft Data

   1. Load Default Data - this will replace all existing data with defaults from the Avinode database.

   2. Manual Entry - manual entry is specific to your aircraft’s fleet and will require you to enter data into all fields indicated with an asterisk.

4. Click Save

Amending an existing aircraft performance profile

1. Go to Aircraft→Performance Profiles

2. Click on the pencil and paper icon to the right of the desired profile

3. Make any desired changes

4. Click Save

Associating a performance profile to a specific tail

1. Go to Aircraft→Performance Profiles

2. Click on the pencil and paper icon to the right of the desired profile

3. Click on the drop-down menu labeled Use on Aircraft

4. Select the tails that you would like to associate with this profile

5. Click Save

AIRCRAFT PERFORMANCE CALIBRATION

To fine-tune your Aircraft’s Performance Profile, you can use flight actuals from previous flights to calibrate the aircraft’s performance profile.

NOTE: If flight time is significantly inaccurate, we recommend reviewing the aircraft’s bias time before calibrating. The system adds the bias time value to every flight segment.

Calibrating a performance profile

1. Click on Aircraft→Performance Profiles

2. Click on the pencil and paper icon to the right of the desired profile

3. Click on the Calibrate tab

4. Enter the flight times into the itinerary

5. Click Save

In order to add an aircraft to the Avinode platform you need to have its aircraft performance data entered. A quick how-to is below:

1. Go to the Aircraft tab and click on Performance Profiles. Click on either create new or on the edit button.

2. In Basic Information section you choose from the following options:

Load Default Data - Enter in your aircraft type to auto-populate Avinode’s historical performance aircraft data.

or

Manually fill out the performance data - By entering in the aircraft performance information. Please see terms the helpful terms and definitions at the bottom of this page to learn how we define what these values mean. 

Ensure you click "Save" after doing this to complete this section.

Helpful Terms and Definitions: 

• Max Range: This data is used to generate a calibration itinerary. Aircraft range is set for each individual aircraft.

• Bias Time: Bias time will add chargeable flight time to each leg. Bias time is sometimes referred to Block Time or Taxi time. We currently only allow for chargeable bias time, so if you do not charge for this time this field should be left blank. Be Aware: Bias Time is only applied once per flight leg in the Avinode Marketplace. Some FMS systems apply this time twice, once on takeoff and once on landing. If this is how your FMS works, please adjust your figures accordingly.
• Required Runway: The minimum distance required for the aircraft to land. This will be used to determine to which airports this aircraft can fly.
• Turn Around Time: Time required to prepare the aircraft for takeoff after landing. Avinode suggests a default time of 0:45.
• Fuel Stop Time: Time required to refuel the aircraft. Avinode suggests a default time of 0:30.

• Wind Model: Stipulate whether there should there be winds adjustments to the flight times. The seasonal winds adjustment will use an aggregate wind model that changes every month  and reflects 30 years of average winds data. The result is that your flight times will change every month based on the current average winds.
• Rate of Climb: The rate the aircraft climbs between takeoff and cruising altitude (feet per minute).
• Rate of Descent: The rate the aircraft descends between its cruising altitude and landing (feet per minute).
• Max Cruise Altitude: Please use your average or practical cruising altitude.
• Flight Rounding: Round flight times to the closest tenth. All flight times and quoted times will be calculated by rounding to the nearest tenth. (ex 1.1,1.2,1.3… etc.… ).
• Take-off Speed: The velocity of the aircraft when its wheels leave the ground.
• Landing Speed: The velocity of the aircraft when its wheels touch the ground.
• Cruise Speed (KTAS): Cruise Speed is the True Airspeed, in knots, that the aircraft averages while at cruising altitude. This is not the MAX cruise speed but the average speed.
