What are Passkeys?
Digital passkeys are a modern authentication method designed to enhance security and streamline your access to online accounts and services. Unlike traditional passwords, which can be easily forgotten or compromised, digital passkeys use cryptographic methods to create unique, device-specific credentials that are stored securely on a user’s device. This approach reduces the risk of phishing attacks and eliminates the need for password management.
Logging in to the web with a Passkey
When you have a Passkey, you will be prompted to use it. This is a secure and fast way to login.
However, you can always choose to use your password instead. Simply press Cancel on the Passkey pop-up to return to the login screen and then click on the link "Log in using password."
Step 1: Enter your email | Step 2: Choose the passkey to use or hit Cancel for Password |

Logging in to the iOS App with a Passkey
When you have a Passkey set up, you will be given the option to log in using it. If you have several Passkeys, you will choose which one to use.

If you don’t have a Passkey set up, you will be asked if you would like to do so when you first log in. Then, you will follow this procedure. If you decline, a Passkey can be set up later under "Account" in your app or by using the desktop version.

Managing and setting up additional Passkeys on your Account
On the desktop, you can manage and set up new Passkeys.
To set up a Passkey:
1. Go to Company → Edit user → Sign-in & Security
2. Register a secure phone number.
3. Select whether you prefer to verify your identity through SMS or a call. Click on Send Verification Code to receive the code to your phone and enter it into the corresponding field. Click on Save and Continue.
4. Then you go to section → Passkeys and click the button Register Passkey.
You will be prompted to verify your selection of Passkey and where you select to store the Passkey.
Please note that this might look different from the image because it depends on the type of operating system you are using (e.g., iOS or Windows).
5. Enter a unique name for this Passkey. This is especially helpful if you plan on having multiple Passkeys in the future because it will help you differentiate between them. Click Save.
6. This will prompt a notification, letting you know the Passkey was successfully created.

I have added a Passkey on my iPhone and now I can no longer login with any of my Apple devices
When you add Passkeys on your iPhone, they will replace any Passkey that you already have in your iCloud keychain created for Avinode. Unfortunately, this will prevent you from using your already activated Passkey. To fix this, you should reach out to your company administrator and ask them to activate your new Passkey. If you are the administrator, Avinode support can help you out here.
