Schedaero offers a first-of-its-kind duty logging platform that is easy to use and helps maintain compliance.
-
Pilots can easily log their duty on the crew app (learn more about logging duty in the crew app)
-
Allows for better communication between departments with real-time duty tracking and insights into crew availability; eliminate extra phone calls and side conversations.
-
Provides detailed warnings around duty and rest (includes all 135.267 regulations); prevents flight assignments that exceed crew duty, flight times, or that do now allow for proper rest.
NOTE: to get the most value out of Schedaero’s duty logging platform, pilots must log duty in real time!
SETTING UP DUTY WARNINGS
The Schedaero duty platform only needs to be set up once, then it will automatically warn you of any crew duty violations on each trip.
NOTE: to make changes to the crew duty/rest settings, you must be a system admin or have full access to company info in user permissions.
-
Add your crew duty/rest rules: When setting up training and currency for the first time you will have the option to load an existing group of all FAA 135 Duty Regulations.
-
Navigate to Company → Settings → Duty/Rest
-
Load a group of existing duty/rest rules: Select FAA 135
-
Once loaded, you can deactivate any items that you do not want to track within Schedaero.
-
-
-
FAA 135 Default DUTY settings:
-
Enable System Warnings for Duty/Rest Items:
-
Navigate to Company→ Settings → Trips
-
In the Crew & Passengers section select "Show crew duty/rest warnings"
-
Once enabled, the system will show warnings if a crew member is assigned to a trip that exceeds duty time or if not enough rest was provided the previous day.
-
In the FAA flight duty warnings section
-
DO NOT SELECT Trip duty time warnings / show FAA duty warnings. This is a retired setting and can trigger errors in the system.
-
SELECT:
-
Trip itinerary duty time warnings / show FAA two-pilot crew duty warnings
-
Quote duty time warnings / show FAA two-pilot crew duty warnings
-
These settings will show duty time totals on each leg and preliminary warnings on your quotes and scheduled itineraries if they do not meet 135 regulations.
-
-
Set your home base and transient duty times for pre-flight and post-flight.
-
This will provide a preliminary buffer for the duty time calculations on your quotes and scheduled itinerary, so it will show warnings according to how long before and after each trip your pilots should duty on/off.
-
-
Non 135 flights.
-
Select "Use duty time for non-135 flights" if you want to show warnings on all flights you schedule.

REVIEWING PILOT DUTY LOGS
Your pilots should be logging duty in real-time via the Crew App. Pilots do not need to enter the web browser. However, if you would like to review or edit a pilot's logs you can do so in Schedaero online.
NOTE: to make changes, review, and edit crew duty records you must be a system admin or have full access to crew and staff under user permissions.
-
Navigate to People → Pilots.
-
Select the Pilot whose logs you would like to review.

On the pilot's page, navigate to the Duty Logs tab.
Adding a new duty entry
If a pilot forgets to log their duty on a particular day, an admin can add it for them.
NOTE: if the pilot has not logged any duty for the month, the page will not populate any line items.
-
Select the + Log Duty button and a log duty window will populate.
-
Complete the date, start time, and end time. You can also add any notes.
-
Save the duty log.
-
Once a duty log has been completed, it will show as a line item on the page. It will also show any flight logs that overlap with the duty event and the total flying time calculated from the completed flight logs.

-
Make any adjustments to the times or add a note.
